As we reported last week , the Bark City BBQ cart will close next weekend after five years in business. That means this weekend, August 27–28, is your last chance to catch a Bing Mi and Bark City BBQ collab, a sporadically scheduled, frequently sold-out pop-up that combines Bark City’s smoky, fatty pork belly burnt ends—appropriately dressed for summer in a peach and tea glaze—with a crisp, eggy, sauce-loaded jianbing from Bing Mi. Catch it at the Bing Mi food cart at 1845 NW 23rd Place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. or until sold out.

We’ve missed Nacheaux’s Cajun-Mexican fare ever since the business decamped from Northeast Portland to a food cart in West Linn. This weekend, it’s back in town at Derby Kenton serving peach queso fresco salad, carnitas and grits, churro beignets, and more. Stop by between 6 and 10 p.m. at 8220 N Denver Ave.

If you haven’t managed to stop by a Soen pop-up this summer, add it to the top of your weekend must-do list. Every Friday through Monday at Courier Coffee, find glorious kakigori, or Japanese shaved ice, made with the clearest ice that’s freshly fluffed into a snowy mound, then flavored with house-made syrups—try the peach-blueberry and add on tofu mochi, or get the strawberry milk flavor stuffed with whipped cream. Savory offerings are also available—last week, we snacked on shiso-infused inari. Soen pops up from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 923 SW Oak St.

Head to Montavilla’s Sicilian-American deli on Friday and Saturday afternoons for the last aperitivo of the summer, the perfect opportunity to kick back on the parking lot patio with an Italian spritz or glass of wine and appetizers. Offerings include house-marinated olives, homemade casarecce pasta with Trapanese-style tomatoey pesto, arancini (read: fried, meat-filled risotto balls), and homemade focaccia with mozzarella. Aperitivo runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 411 SE 81st Ave.
