What to do with all the peaches life gives you when they are in season? Simple… make this Peach Salsa. It’s fresh and sweet, it’s addictively delicious and it’s colorful and pretty to take it to all your summer potlucks and poolside parties.

This peach salsa is great as a summer appetizer with tortillas, but also acts as a great topping for your tacos and burritos, or on top of your roasted or grilled chicken, pork and fish mains.

Who doesn’t like some salsa every now and then? We absolutely love digging into our various salsas here on GypsyPlate, be it authentic Salsa Verde or extra zesty Salsa Taqueria.

Our go to salsa is Mango Salsa. In fact, we use this fruity salsa on everything like Blackened Salmon or Shrimp Tacos. It’s the inspiration behind this new fruity salsa.

We had a lot of peaches lying around a few weeks back, so instead of going our regular mango route, I just chopped the best peaches and turned them into this easy peach appetizer.

This peach salsa turned out excellent. It’s beautifully colored and so very appealing to the eyes. It’s less acidic than tomato salsa, and is sweet and juicy if you have the best ripe peaches.

Taking just 10 minutes of work, this is the easiest appetizer you can whip up for your friends and family.

Although now a days you can get peaches all year round in your grocery store, the best peaches you can lay your hands on is in peach season, which is from June through August. So make the most of these summer bounties.

When choosing a peach for your fresh salsa, avoid peaches that are hard, as they aren’t ripe yet. Look for plump and ripe peaches.

They shouldn’t be over ripe or very soft, as you will end up with mushy, watery salsa. Look for fresh peaches without wrinkled or dry skin.

The perfectly ripe peach has healthy, vibrantly colored skin and is a little soft to the touch when squeezed gently.

It’s as easy as chopping all of the ingredients and mixing them in a bowl.

Dice peaches into small chunks. We left the skin on, as it gives beautiful color to the salsa with its reddish and yellowish hues. You can peel the skin off if that’s the way you prefer to eat your peach.

Dice the rest of ingredients like cherry tomatoes, onion and bell peppers the same size as the peach chunks. Chop the jalapeño and cilantro and mix everyone in a bowl, along with lime juice and your seasonings like salt and pepper. Always taste and adjust the salsa according to your taste.

If your peaches are not on sweeter side, you can add a dash of sugar. You can make your salsa more hot or mild by adding more or less jalapeño. Some people prefer to deseed the jalapeños, to control the heat.

You can immediately serve the salsa, or chill it in the refrigerator, covered with cling wrap.

Peach salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. It might become more juicy or watery as it sits for some time. Some people like all the flavors melded like that. You can always drain the water or juices before serving the salsa again.

Make the most of the summer time bounties, and make this easy summer appetizer any time you see some great looking peaches.

It would be a welcome and a little different change from your regular salsa to serve your guests. So yes.. when thinking salsa, go the peach way, go the sweet and fruity way…
