Now, the San Antonio-based company is run by the mother-daughter team of Valerie Gonzalez and Herlinda Lopez-Wood, and opened its first Austin branch (1931 E. Oltorf) in the week after Thanksgiving. "We are proud of our tradition and of being the leading manufacturer of tamales in San Antonio," Lopez Wood said.
