Work schedules, lack of transportation or disabilities can make it difficult for people in need to access food pantries.

Wichita Falls Area Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry delivers free staple foods on different dates and times to eight locations.

Find Mobile Pantry information and a map of stop locations at wfafb.org. Check WFAFB social media posts for any changes or text “mobilepantry” to 940-204-6365 for updates or cancellations.

Bags of Mobile Pantry food may include tuna, beans, rice and other shelf-stable foods.

There is more to a can of tuna than sandwich spread.

This recipe includes three sources of healthy low-fat protein — beans, tuna and eggs.

BEAN AND TUNA SALAD WITH EGGS

¼ cup olive or vegetable oil

Salt and ground pepper to taste

½ cup chopped red, white or yellow onion

1 15.5-ounce can cannellini, great northern or navy beans rinsed and drained

1 8.5 ounce can tuna packed in water or oil drained and flaked

1/3 cup salad olives, drained (optional)

4 large hard cooked eggs cut in thick slices

Try this when it’s time for something different that’s ingredient flexible.

1 cup long grain or brown rice cooked by package directions

1 11-ounce can cream of celery, chicken or mushroom soup

1 cup shredded Swiss, cheddar, Monterrey or pepper jack cheese plus 3 tablespoons for topping

1 cup canned and drained or frozen mixed vegetables thawed

1 8½-ounce can tuna packed in water or oil drained and flaked

¼ cup sliced black olives drained

Know this is easy enough for kids to make. I was 10 the first time I cooked it. And it really is better when baked.

CHEESY TUNA AND SHELLS CASSEROLE

1 box deluxe shells and cheese

1 11-ounce can cream of chicken soup

1 6.5 ounce can mushroom pieces drained

1 8.5-ounce can tuna packed in water or oil drained and flaked

1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed potato chips
