The Fairfield County Junior Leaders are asking for your help with a Fairfield County Fair canned food drive. Farm Credit Mid-America is challenging county fairs all across the state to help fill local food pantries with their STOCK THE TRAILER, FILL THE PANTRY food drive. By participating in this event you will allow youth to compete for monetary prizes awarded by Farm Credit for those fairs bringing in the most pounds of canned food donated. The Junior Leaders will be collecting your donations daily at the #50 Show Arena, drop off containers at the Broad and High Street entrance gates to the Fairgrounds

Don’t want to shop − send a monetary donations to the attention of the Fairfield County Junior Leaders 4-H Club % OSU Extension 831 College Avenue, Suite D, Lancaster, OH 43130. We will send our Junior Leaders out to shop for you. The contest ends on the last day of the Fairfield County Fair, October 15. Your support helps our youth give back!

If you can’t attend the Fairfield County Jr. Livestock Sales on Oct. 13 and 14,, provide your support by becoming a member of the Buyers Club!

As you know the Junior Fair Sale is the culmination of months, and for many youth years of dedication and hard work. Many of these young people use the proceeds of the sale of their animals to fund their next project while also saving money for their college fund.

Beginning in 2017 the Sale Committee added a new opportunity for local businesses, organizations and individuals to get involved in supporting the Jr. Livestock Sale through the creation of the Fairfield County Junior Fair Sale Buyers Club. For example , in 2021 the Buyers Club members, their generous donations benefited 181 youth during the Junior Fair Livestock Sale.

The basics of it are simple. Those who can’t attend the sale, or perhaps those wishing to provide support at a level less than enough to purchase an entire animal are invited to make a donation that will be pooled into the Buyers Club funds. Anyone is welcome to participate in Buyers Club including local businesses, organizations, or even individuals and no donation is too small.

The Buyers Club is managed by the Fairfield County Junior Fair Sale Committee. Contributions will be accepted throughout the year in any amount and are 100% tax deductible.

The pool of funds that are contributed to the Buyers Club will be used to make purchases of projects throughout the sale that may have lesser buyer support than others. The goal is to ensure that all youth earning a sale slot are rewarded for their hard work and effort while also allowing another opportunity for additional buyers to participate. In researching the concept of a Buyers Club it was discovered that several other counties around Ohio including Delaware, Knox, Marion and Ottawa, to name a few, have been doing this successfully for years.

To become a member of the 2022 Fairfield County Junior Fair Sale Buyers Club all you need to do is complete this form and submit it along with your tax deductible contribution to the Fairfield County Junior Fair Sale Committee.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support the 4-H and FFA Youth of Fairfield County, and investing in their future.
