"Sandwich lovers rejoice: Chef Reid Shilling’s new concept, Ampersandwich, was launched today, which includes a list of rotating sandwiches that can be delivered at lunch and dinner. Highlights of the comfort food-inspired menu include: E. Lombard Street Corned Beef ( Hot corned beef is piled high, "Mustard flavored", homemade kosher rye), McReid (smoked slow-cooked St. Louis ribs, chopped) pork shoulder, topped with dill pickles and barbecue sauce on homemade buns ) And chivito (Uruguayan’s national dish, now a favorite in Washington, D.C., featuring firewood beef, Virginia ham, applewood smoked bacon, eggs, roasted red peppers), chimichurri, aioli, onions, lettuce and homemade bread Melted mozzarella cheese) and so on.

This concept was inspired by the simple but delicious menu that chef Reid created at his Navy Yard restaurant Shilling Canning Company in the early days of closure: Shilling and his team served burgers, French dips and soft shell crab sandwiches. This has helped the region’s desire for rich sandwiches with high ingredients. "When I was a kid in Baltimore, I grew up eating a beef sandwich-so there is a nostalgic side to me," Schilling said. "Our E. Lombard Street Corned Beef Sandwich is an ode to the "corned beef line" in downtown Baltimore, and we are happy to provide classic sandwiches to people in our area and community."

Ampersandwich will be available on partner platforms, including DoorDash, GrubHub and UberEats. Those who want to enjoy Ampersandwich at the restaurant can head to the Shilling Canning Company to enjoy sandwiches, beer and wine specials and specialty cocktails during the happy hour from 4 to 6 pm every Wednesday and Thursday.
